1. Development of advance data mining techniques for analyzing
high throughput gene expression datasets.

2. Designing of microarray experiments to be performed on tissue
samples from the NUS/NUH Tissues Repository so as to facilitate
the construction of pathways that are involved in the development
of cancer tissues.

3. Building of a system that make use of the techniques developed
in (1) to support (2).

The project currently have a position for a postdoc fellow and a
research assistant. The requirement for these positions are as
follow:

1)Postdoc Fellow

Candidate must have a relevant Phd. degree in Computer Science,
Computational Biology or Bioinformatics. He/She must be a
proficient programmer and is familiar with various aspect of
biological pathway analysis and modelling. Familiarity with
statistical modelling tools like Bayesian Network will be added
bonus. Salary for this position varies from S$60,000 to S$80,000
depending on qualification. Initial appointment is for one year
with possible extension for another year.

2)Research Assistant

Candidate must have a relevant BSc. or MSc. degree in Computer
Science, Computational Biology or Bioinformatics. He/She must be a
good system programmer with strong background in mathematics and
algorithms. Knowledge in XML, HTML, Java, C++ and J2EE is
required. Salary for this position varies from S$30,000 to
S$50,000 depending on qualification. Initial appointment is for
one year with possible extension for another year.
