应老师的主要成就在三方面:
1,形式语义学,特别是进程演算方面,并在国际上发表了专著《Topology in Process Calculus: Approximate Correctness and Infinite Evolution of Concurrent Programs》(Springer-Verlag, New York, February 2001)
2,在国际上首先建立起基于量子逻辑的计算理论,为量子计算机的理论基础做出了杰出的贡献,他的奠基性文章:《A theory of computation based on quantum logic (I)》( Theor. Comput. Sci. 344(2-3): 134-207 (2005))
3,人工智能的基础性理论的研究,每年起码保持一篇《Artificial Intelligence》长文章(不短于20页)
